There's the king, Internet Explorer.  Then there's the rebels, Firefox and Opera.  Mac users have Safari.  Now there's Google Chrome.  Another web browser... ARGH! right?  Well, normally I would agree but when it's Google you can't ignore it.  Tomorrow (Tuesday) the beta version of this new browser will be available for download in 100 countries.  It wasn't supposed to be annouced until tomorrow but like a good secrets, it got out.  Here's a quick look at some of the new features that you'll see in this Chrome browser:

Asus Eee PC 2G Surf Review

What the heck is an Eee PC? That's typically the first question people ask. The Eee PC would be best described as a "laptop light." It's similar to a traditional laptop except it's smaller in every way and doesn't have quite as much "umph" to it. The screen is 7" diagonal and the entire laptop only weights about 2 pounds. That's pretty light when you realize that even the lightest traditional laptop tips the scales at about 4 or 5 pounds.

Is iPhone 3G Really Cheaper? (0) Comments
Kirk Yuhnke 6/9/2008 4:46:15 PM

Here it is, the faster Apple iPhone that everyone has been talking about!  It now has 3G speeds and a GPS chip built-in.  The new software (that will be available to old iPhone users too) will finally let you install additional programs.  It'll also support business e-mail and calendar systems.  Apple took an awesome product and made it better, no question about it!

Foxnews.com Story About New iPhone

It's being touted as twice as fast at half the cost.  After all the new iPhone is $199 instead of $399.  Is it really cheaper though?  I'm not convinced.  Reading the at&t press release it says that 3G data on the iPhone will cost $30 in addition to your voice plan.  The old iPhone data package was an extra $20.  You'll be paying $10 extra per month?!?  Nobody told us about that!  Over the course of 2 years, that's $240 extra!!!  Hmmmm, to that I say, "what up with that?"

Regardless, the new iPhone looks REALLY cool but I'm still waiting for video recording capabilities and picture mail.  Will I buy it?  Probably not.  The only reason I'm still waiting is because I want to see what the Google Android project has to offer later this year.

Flip Video Mino Review, Pics & Video (0) Comments
Kirk Yuhnke 6/4/2008 5:07:01 PM

This week is quickly turning out to be the week of the pocket digital camcorders! First the Creative Vado shows up in the mail and now the new Flip Video Mino has arrived. I've had a few hours to play with the Mino, here's my first impression.

It's much smaller than the previous Flip Video camcorder, the Ultra, and the new interface is very nice. It uses "touch" sensitive buttons instead of physical buttons. The record button and power button are still "real" buttons though. They also work fine through gloves and such, I tried it. I did find myself bumping buttons while handling the Mino. That was somewhat annoying. The Mino is much thinner than the Ultra and the USB plug has a new mechanism for flipping out, it's pretty cool! They also included a built-in rechargeable battery (non-removable.)

at&t Mobile TV Sneak Peek (0) Comments
Kirk Yuhnke 4/30/2008 9:06:34 PM

At&t officially launches it's new mobile TV service on May 1st, it's available on May 4th. It uses MediaFLO technology which means there is a separate network devoted entirely to the TV signal. At&t, like Verizon, built a new network on top of their existing network. Salt Lake City is one of 58 markets where this service is being launched. I got to demo the new service and so far, I'm impressed.

Mario Kart Wii Review (0) Comments
Kirk Yuhnke 4/27/2008 2:40:56 PM

First, I'd like to ask Nintendo to give me my weekend back! Mario Kart Wii stole most of it right out from underneath me. I spent WAY too much time holding down that A button on my Wiimote this weekend. Ok, on to the review.

Mario Kart Wii Preview (0) Comments
Kirk Yuhnke 4/25/2008 9:14:31 PM

I can not think of one game that brings people of different sexes, ages and game playing abilities together as well as Mario Kart.  I'm talking Super Nintendo, circa 1992, Mario Kart!  That game was addictive... to say the least.  Sure, I missed most of the 7 or so versions of Mario Kart since the original but now the Wii could bring me back!  Mario Kart Wii comes out on Sunday.  The feature list sounds great, new tracks, old tracks, a steering wheel to place your WiiMote into and most importantly online play!  I'm excited to check out Mario Kart Wii.
